Meet your dentist
Dentistry with a world-wide perspective. His Air Force postings took him from Alaska to Saudi Arabia, and his hands-on postgraduate training covered the full scope of general dentistry. Before dental school he spent a year as an animal rescue technician in New York City, the most interesting job he says he has ever had.
Dr. Chenet’s wife Katia manages the business side of the practice, and their son Dr. Derek Chenet works with it as a consultant dentist.
Grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Twenty years as a US Air Force dental officer, with postgraduate training across periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Retired a lieutenant colonel in December 2002 and started this Melbourne practice from scratch. Speaks English, French, Haitian Creole and some Spanish.

If you have an urgent problem, yes, we can usually arrange to see you the day you contact us. Please call rather than email so you speak to a team member straight away. At that visit we focus on relieving the pain and on a plan to treat the cause.
In the United States a checkup and cleaning often costs $200 to $350. Your price depends on your oral health and what your insurance covers for preventive care, and we are glad to go through the cost with you before we start.
We accept most dental insurance, as long as your policy lets you choose your dentist. Our insurance specialist files the claim for you and works to get you the most from your benefits. We do not take HMO or DMO plans.
There are three ways to make it easier. We take most insurance plans, our membership plan gives discounts without an insurance company in the middle, and CareCredit lets you pay in monthly installments instead of all at once.
